Sachin Tendulkar (SRT) honored with Bharat Ratna Award. The Prime Minister’s Office has announced that the government has decided to confer Bharat Ratna, the highest Indian civilian award on eminent scientist professor CNR Rao and cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar on 16th November, 2013. Tendulkar is the first Indian sportsman to ever receive this highest award. Sachin Tendulkar became the first sportsperson received a Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honor. The Indian government announced this honor after 200th and final Test Match of Sachin Tendulkar on November 16, 2013.
