C.P. Joshi, the Union Road Transport and Highways Minister took an additional charge of the Railway Ministry on 24th september 2012 after the resignation of Mukul Roy (Trinamool Congress and a member of Rajya Sabha). C.P. Joshi temprarily took this additional charging as a Railway Minister.
